US-Israel Research and Development Partnership Posts Solicitation for Homeland Security Projects; William Bryan Quoted

Interested vendors have until June 15th to submit proposals to the Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development Foundation on research and development projects for homeland security technologies. The proposals are also required to include research and cooperative agreements between Israeli and U.S. companies. BIRD will accept executive summaries for all proposed projects until April 27th.

DHS Enlists DefenseWerx for Homeland Security Innovation Campaign

The Department of Homeland Security's Science and Technology (DHS S&T) directorate will collaborate with the Niceville, Florida-based nonprofit DefenseWerx organization to establish an innovation hub that can support DHS' mission requirements. DHS S&T and DWX signed a partnership intermediary agreement to engage the small business community and the educational sector in efforts to develop, transition and commercialize technology across five task areas.

Skydome includes the artificial intelligence-based TrueView radar and software designed to track nefarious drones in real-time.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, a 2021 Wash100 Award winner, described Easterly as a cybersecurity professional with military, civil service and industry experience and noted that they will work together in efforts to address urgent cyber and physical threats to critical U.S. infrastructure.

White House Releases Domestic Counter-UAS National Action Plan

The Biden administration has unveiled a plan to address the threats posed by unmanned aircraft systems to homeland security, public safety and privacy. The Domestic Counter-UAS National Action Plan offers eight recommendations, including the need to work with Congress on a bill that would expand and reauthorize counter-UAS authorities for the departments of Homeland Security, Defense, State, Justice, CIA and NASA, the White House said Monday. Kenneth Wainstein Confirmed to Serve as DHS Intell & Analysis Office Head
